I gave in. . .

Those who know me knew it was inevitable that I would start a blog - it was only a matter of time.  I guess all it took was a test Monday, a final the following Monday, and a project the Thursday after that in Intermediate Accounting II to set me over the edge.  I've been trying to put off starting a blog; as I told Shannon, I don't feel like I have anything going on in my life right now that is blog-worthy.  I also said that I would try to wait until after I finished school to start my blog, in hopes of having something to write about.  Well, tonight as I finish rereading Chapter 11 in my Intermediate Accounting II book (only 3 more chapters to reread for the first test in the line of misery for the next two weeks), I decided that Bejeweled wasn't quite procrastination enough...it was blog time.

The title of my blog comes from a good friend Kim.  Back when she was working at Principal, her and I would email daily - and I don't mean one email each day, no; we're talking 10+ emails per day, easily.  We were (and still are to a lesser extent) each other's support on bad days (usually work related back then), cheerleaders on good & exciting days, and shoulders to cry on when it felt like everything was falling apart with no end in sight.  Once when it was Kim's turn to be my cheerleader, she sent me this quote with subtext of "The strongest 10 two-letter words."

If it is to be, it is up to me.

So simple...ten words, twenty letters total, yet so powerful.  Stop and think about it - really think about it.  If things aren't going the way you'd like, who has the power to change it?  YOU!  Don't get me wrong, nothing was devastatingly horrible in my life when Kim gave me this quote, but it made me smile.  As time went on, I thought about this quote more and more along with the power behind it.  I love it and am not sure I've properly thanked Kim for introducing this quote into my life - so, thanks Kim!!

Alright...
I'm assuming that 99% of anyone who reads this will already know me, but to the few strangers who may stumble upon this I'll give a brief bio:
  • Name: Jenna
  • Location: Iowa
  • Career: Bookkeeper at a small bank
  • Education: Full-Time student (nights) acquiring BA in Accounting
  • Status: Engaged to my best friend (of course!)
  • Age: 25
Those are the basics but you'll get to know the real me through reading this.

On that note, I suppose I should continue my futile attempt of studying...on to Chapter 12.  I just keep looking towards the very bright taunting light at the end of this two week tunnel.  This class will be done (which isn't so exciting because it's followed by Intermediate Accounting III) and we have a week off before starting up the next Accounting class along with Macroeconomics (online...ick!).
