2 under 1. . .

I hate that when I publish posts from my iPad the pictures post at the bottom and there's no controlling that. I'll make this post short, as most people who read this are friends with me on Facebook and already know our big news.

We're expecting baby #2!! Yes, Lincoln is just over 5 months old and I am just over 14 weeks pregnant. Crazy, right?! As my good friend likes to point out (or rather she just likes to make fun of me...) I returned from maternity leave pregnant. Only in technical terms, but she still sticks with that humorous comment.

So I used to think 2 under 2 sounded a little exhausting but something that was a possibility. Side note: My only sibling (brother) is 10.5 years older than me...so I basically know the feeling of being an only child. It wasn't all bad, but after I saw the bonds my husband has with his siblings, it quickly made me realize I wanted those bonds for my children.

If I thought 2 under 2 sounded exhausting, I sure am going to be in for a surprise, huh?! I'm already exhausted. The nausea has been much more manageable this time around (I think a lot of that is due to knowing what to expect and how to handle it now), but the fatigue. Oh, the fatigue. It takes everything in me to stay up until 9. I try to stay downstairs until 9 each night (Lincoln goes to bed at 7), but I can't always promise I won't fall asleep for a little 'nap' on the couch before that... Actually, last night I gave up and went to bed at 8:30pm. It's a good thing too because Lincoln was a hand full starting at 2am. Trying to wean him from being swaddled and from needing a bottle in the middle of the night is proving to be a lot of change for the little guy. Too much change. I think Momma needs to focus on one at a time. I'm starting with swaddling. That's another post, though (that I should just write and save tonight while I'm on a roll since I've been doing so poorly in blog land).

Sooooo...back to the original subject of this post. I'm due October 8th... I'll try so blog a little more often but I'm not promising any frequency because, well, I know better. ;)

So now I leave you with a (poor quality) picture of the cutest baby boy ever!

Update: Lincoln is here. . .

Thursday night (@ 34w1d) I went to ER for bad back, chest, & upper abdomen pain. Turns out my blood pressure was through the roof (180/120 & higher) and I had severe pre-eclampsia (called HELP syndrome). The solution: delivery. I was still completely closed & not thinned @ all so they said the time (days) it'd take me to be induced & deliver vaginally was too risky to my health. C-section it was!

Lincoln was born 11.02.12 @ 5:58am. He weighed 5lb 5.6oz & was already 18.5in!

He is doing well but will need to be in NICU for roughly 4 weeks. Wes has been a life saver. I had to be on bed rest for 24 hours after the C, which meant I couldn't even TOUCH my son until he was 24 hours old (and the glimpse I got of him in the OR was from 3+ ft away because of all the machines surrounding me). It killed me & made me feel inadequate, but Wes was a life saver. He went with Lincoln straight to the NICU & was everywhere I couldn't be. Somehow he also managed to be there for me whenever I needed him as well.

I've never been so in love! It's been along & crazy few days, but I am so grateful for my healthy family!

At less than 2 days old, Lincoln was already down to only an NG tube (which he's getting my breast milk through), normal oxygen cannula through nose (with just a LITTLE force), & some fluids and antibiotics through IV. He's our tough little man. Last night he even opened one eye (THREE TIMES!!!) to look at us!!

Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and messages. We are very blessed!

(I've thrown in my last baby bump pic for good measure.)

BBB's room . . .

Pinned Image
I have to start with this because this week has made me hate Taylor Swift more than ever.
Seriously...how many times a day must the radio play "We are never ever ever getting back together"...?
We get it...you like to say the same word several times to get your point across.
You also like to talk in your songs more than you sing.
Case closed.
Shut up!!

Wes was productive in BBB's room this week!
He put the light fixture back up as well as the light switch and electrical covers.
He put the knobs on the armoire [which will be the changing station].

The top baskets will be home to blankets, socks, mittens,
as well as other odds & ends.
The changing pad will go where the wipes are now and the
wipes & diapers will go in the drawers.

He put the decals up on the book shelves.

He hung up the curtains.

Also notice more decals on the left and the pretty
animal cushioned wall hangings above the windows.
The swing that's in the picture will come down to the living room
once BBB arrives.
Last, but not least, he unpacked the new lamp and gave the night stand a little homey [honeymoon] feel.

I should really get a close up of the lamp alone.
It's so cute...a lil monkey on the bottom.
After seeing all he had done, I got some motivation and decided to clean out the hallway closet.
It was already a "medicine closet" combined with hair products [unused obviously - have you met me? I'm less than low maintenance], finger nail polish [again...have you met me? Why do I have this stuff?!], and other random pieces of junk.
So...I cleaned it all up...pitched a lot of stuff that hadn't been touched in too long, and put all of BBB's bath and medicine type products in little totes.

BBB now has two little totes - one with his medicinal needs [cotton swabs, gas drops, first aid essentials] and the other with a few bottles and spoons that he won't need right away.
Also, I got a cute little flexible tote to put his bath products in - shampoo, lotions, etc.

It's safe to say I'm getting pretty darn excited.
Seeing his room 95% done and cleaned up [I also picked up all the garbage I had on the floor from opening things - I can be such a slob, especially when excited] makes me that much more excited for him to arrive.
Take your time, though, sweet baby...you still have some developing to do in there!
Every time I go upstairs I have to peek into his room and smile. It's so cute - it's so ready for him.
All we need now is the changing pad...
...and Dreft [which luckily I have a $3 off coupon for - stuff's expensive!!].
I need to wash up his clothes, bedding, and blankets and we'll be set!! :)
I'm hoping to get Dreft at Wal-Mart after our appointment next Friday...so then I can start the laundry.
Ok, so this shows how lazy I am...
...do I really need to sort out his clothes and wash the new colorful stuff by hand so it doesn't bleed?
Have they seriously not invented a solution for this color bleeding b.s. yet?!
I mean, c'mon. We can have an iPod, iPad, and now an iPad Mini...
...but we can't solve color bleeding in clothes?!
Priorities, people!!

Wow, I think I just sounded more motherly than gadget nerdy. That's a step up! ha!

I hope you have a good weekend.
I have two recipe posts I am working for in my drafts that should be up this week!! :)

33 weeks . . .

Well...this is the first week I feel like all I've done is complain.
I can handle the growing belly...
I can handle the jabs to the ribs and bladder...
I can handle the bathroom visits which are merely minutes apart, it feels...
I can handle the numb and swollen fingers which don't allow me to wear my wedding ring anymore...

What I'm having a very difficult time handling...?

These bad boys. My feet, ankles, and even calves are ginormous!!
As if that's not enough, they HURT!! I knew swelling came with pregnancy,
yet no one warned me about the constant pain that came with it.
It hurts to bend my toes...
It hurts to have my feet flat on the floor while I sit at my desk...
It hurts to wear shoes - even flip flops!!
I walk around work barefoot all day...but that doesn't really offer relief, either.
Like I said...this swelling has done nothing but make me complain.
I'm aware...
I'm aware that I'm whining like a big baby.
I'm aware it will go away in a couple weeks.
I'm aware that it is all worth it.
I just want to have the right to complain about it for the next 7 weeks...ok?!
Ok.
Thanks.
:)

33 weeks

Baby:
• is the size of a pineapple.
• has passed the 17 inch mark and will probably grow a whole inch this week alone!
• keeps his eyes open while awake.

Momma:
• is wanting to cut off her feet...but you know that already.
• is up 24lbs as of her appointment the 15th.
• sees the doctor again November 2nd.
• is still wearing her pre-pregnancy belly button ring!!
[I ordered a maternity one but haven't had to put it in yet!]

Kicks . . .

A few months ago, no matter how many descriptions I read, I couldn't imagine what it would feel like to be kicked from inside.

Now...I can't imagine that feeling going away!! It makes me sad to think of not feeling it any more. It helps knowing that those kicks will be replaced by my precious little boy being in my arms.

32 weeks . . .

Monday we had our latest OB appointment. Wes was able to get off work to go with me, which was nice since he's had to miss the last couple due to work! :)
Since we drive an hour to see the doctor for 15 minutes, I always feel the need to shop till I drop afterwards. Let me tell you, the further I get in this pregnancy, the quicker I drop. It doesn't help that it now gets dark between 6:30 - 7pm. :( [I schedule my appointments for anytime between 3:30-4:30p so I don't have to leave work too early and take any personal time.]
So, after an uneventful appointment [which is good - BBB is measuring right on track!], we hit up Wendy's [ummmm...hello! They have amazing chicken sandwiches - I did not know this!!] and then the shopping began. A friend of mine had told me there was a Goodwill north of the Walmart in Coralville...which I was unaware of. It was a bust...probably mostly because I didn't want to look for clothes for my[huge]self...was only really focusing on BBB. The bulk of their children's clothes were all Halloween outfits. While the hubs loves Halloween...BBB won't be here yet for the upcoming holiday...so we'll have to wait till next year.

Next, we went to the reliable Stuff, Etc.
Can I just tell you how much I love this store?
It's ridiculously amazing.
I'm so sad and ashamed that I didn't know it existed until we started going to IC for our doctor appointments. It's amazing - especially the one in Coralville. It has a basement for crying out loud!!
I'm sad to report I didn't even make it to the basement... [where the "real" deals are]
nonetheless...I scored big time!!

See that?!
That's 10 pairs of pants/sweats [mostly 0-3month with a couple random 6month thrown in for good measure] and 7 onesies/pj's...
...for a grand total of $20.
Yes, I rock.
Plus, I scored a pair of Motherhood Maternity jeans for $9.
I can't wait to wear them Saturday...soooo comfy!!
When not at work I've been living in sweats because I haven't found any good deals on jeans I like yet, but that's about to change! :)

As I mentioned last week, mostly everything is bought/ready as far as the big things go, but little things still need done/organized. I basically feel the need to do a litttttttle something baby related each night, though.
So, last night I assembled the stroller and attached the car seat.
How flippin cute are they?!
I'm pumped.
I'm not sure why this particular thing made me excited...but it jump started something in me.
It made me realize that in 8 weeks or less we'll have a little [maybe...?] baby in there.
In 8 weeks or less we'll be driving on the interstate with a fragile bundle of love in the backseat.
I'm sure my nerves will be shot...I can't even imagine driving with a newborn...that'll be interesting.

Anyway...on to the routine.

32 weeks

Baby:
• weighs almost 4 pounds.
• is almost 19 inches long.
• is soooooooo active!!
[The doctor made mention of thinking it's funny how babies kick our livers. I'm not gonna lie...I'm not so sure I would know where my liver is well enough to know if that's what he's hitting...but he just loves trying to kick my ribs out of the way!!]
• has nails!!

Momma:
• is up 24 pounds from the first OB appointment. Yikes.
[It's typical to gain about a pound a week from here on out. I'm not going to like seeing the number on the scale ... from here on out.]
• is doing lots of reading about breastfeeding to try to prepare as much as possible.
[I was assured that a lactation specialist is included at no additional charge - def gonna be employing her help!]
• has decided to make a birth plan. Tips and advice are welcome.
[I wasn't going to make one, but after talking to doctor Monday she said it'd be a good idea that way the doctor/nurses on call will know my specific wants easily as they'll be in my chart.]
• doesn't sleep well at night.
[It is no longer comfortable to sleep on my right side more than 5 minutes at a time, so my neck and upper back are realllllly sore from constantly being on my left side.]
• can't sleep past 6am anymore.
[I don't think this is pregnancy related - but throwing it in there nonetheless.]

I suck at this whole self-baby-bump picture thing...but I took it in his room this morning so his bookshelf is in the background!! :)

30 weeks . . .

All week I kept thinking about how I needed to do my 30 week update.
This week seems so important. I'm not sure why...it doesn't mark any great change.
It doesn't make me full term, it doesn't make BBB some magical weight or length,
it doesn't make him at some magical milestone.
It's just great to go from 29 to 30.
To have the first digit in my "weeks" change from 2 to 3.
Stupid, right?
But it feels like a milestone.
It makes the whole thing seem closer.
Yet, it's going so slowly.

I'm not at 30w4d ... nine more weeks seems like a lifetime!
If you think about it, rather, in the time that has passed ... it's pretty amazing that we've already gone 30 weeks ...!

I'll be 31 weeks Wednesday, which will put me in the 8th month of pregnancy.
Wowza!!
:)

I finally uploaded the baby shower pictures, so here are a few to enjoy:

My bestie came down from Wisconsin for my shower! ♥

The sign-in table:
Diaper cake with a monkey.
Framed ultrasound from 20w.
Thank you card envelopes for guests to fill out. ;)
Monkey sheet from them all to sign.

Me & the gift table!

My mom got BBB a Santa suit for Christmas!!
[Sitting in the rocking chair BBB's Auntie G got!]

Baby:
• is about 15.7 inches long and about 3 pounds.
• is getting smarter and smarter. ;)
[Brain growth and development is big this week.]
• loves Momma's ribs.
• has enough strength to grip a finger.
• loves when Momma lays on her side - he dances.

Momma:
• goes to the doctor the 15th for next appointment.
• is just starting to experience uncomfortableness.
[getting into the vehicle triggers a shooting pain in upper abdomen...
lots of feet pain...
lots of very low back pain...]
• put BBB's crib together Monday!!

• bought the mattress for the crib and baby bathtub [with the gift money coworkers gave].
• bought 3 swaddlers and a big ol' diaper bag [with the gift card insurance gave].

29 weeks . . .

My wonderful sister-in-law and mother-in-law threw me and BBB (Baby Boy Beck, as others call him since we won't share his precious name) the best baby shower this last weekend! ♥
We are so so blessed and overwhelmed by the gifts we received.
I hope to get some pictures up on here and Facebook this week, but I've been trying to keep busy by being productive. Saturday evening we started putting the swing my grandma got him with the help of Courtney (niece), but it had to wait until Sunday morning.

After a good night's rest and Wes' strength...we were finally able to get it snapped into place the way it was supposed to go.

My next project, Sunday night, was cleaning out his closet. For the past few years it's been my shoe closet as well as my school books/utensils closet.

After clearing all of that out (most shoes going to the Clothes Closet and the books/utensils going into a storage room - yeah, real productive Jenna - moving junk from one room to another. Shhh...don't tell the hubs!), it's all ready for his goodies. I love that the closet has all of this storage shelving in it. I need to stock up on baskets and other ways to keep organized. :)

So naturally...the next step was to sort through his clothes.

Holy bad phone picture quality! I tried sharpening it up (because it was really dark) but that just made it look that much worse!

 I sorted the clothes: NB, 0-3 months, 3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 12 months, 24 months.
Then I hauled them all upstairs to the closet. For now they're just sitting on the shelves in piles until it's time to wash them all. It's nice to have them out of the way until then, though!

Last night I cleaned the bookshelves in BBB's room.
I have two tall & skinny white bookshelves from my childhood teenage room at my parents'.

I think the white makes a good accent against the "Hint of Olive" wall and will go well with the dark wood work in the room. I loaded the shelves of one of them with the books BBB received at the baby shower (the invitation asked that instead of cards, loved ones bring a book for BBB and sign the inside of it).
This shelving unit is in a corner and I put the other unit next to where his crib will be. It is currently loaded with toys/odds and ends we have for him.

I need to finish sweeping the room good. Also, I need to clean out our hallway closet to make room for BBB's medicinal goodies. As I said regarding the closet...I need to find some baskets/tubs to help organize. This will be helpful in the hall closet as well.

Inspired by Pinterest, we will be using a huge armoire I had as a changing station. I'm not going to paint it because it matches the dark wood work in the room...so I just need to get it cleaned up and add the knobs on. It has 4 smaller drawers that will work well for wipes, creams, and diapers. There are also 2 large drawers at the very bottom. The top has a shelf as well that I hope to find some baskets to put on to hold his socks and little mittens.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with all his blankets. Maybe...you guessed it...another basket...?!

Slowly, but surely...everything is coming together. I love it! ♥

Today I start Week 29. 11 to go!!

Baby:
• is growing rapidly now!
• weighs about 2.5 pounds and is just over 15 inches. (The 15 inches part kind of amazes me. Most babies are born around 20 inches...so he's almost as long as he's going to get...crazy!!)
• is the size of a butternut squash.
• continues to mature in his lungs and muscles.
• has a growing head to accommodate his brain that is busy busy!!
• has surging energy, thanks to the white fat being deposited beneath his skin.
• has found Momma's ribs. (It isn't uncomfortable yet, but I'm sure it'll get that way as he grows. Right now it's just a very new and unique feeling and experience to feel him up that high. Up until this week he was still very low and only kicking my bladder. Now he divides his time nicely between my bladder and ribs.)

Momma:
• has more manageable dizziness...no more nearly falling in the shower, just the occasional spin in bed.
• can no longer take her prenatals without getting sick to her stomach. (Need to call the dr about that one...)
• "is getting quite the belly," according to a coworker today.

Again...horrrrrible phone picture quality - sorry!
See the car seat/stroller set in the background...?
Yeah, I'm pumped. My mom has been spoiling BBB so much already!!

28 weeks . . .

Gooooooodbye pink & purple...

....hellllllllllllllo "Hint of Olive"!!

It felt so good to see the pink & purple go away. I know the green is really hard to see in the picture...it is a very light shade of green. Very similar to "sweet pea" I would say. I love it. It's going to look so nice with the bedding, woodwork, and crafts I will do have planned.
I am so so blessed with amazing parents-in-law. They came and primed Friday night and then painted the Hint of Olive yesterday while I was at work! What troopers! It makes it feel that much more real. I can't wait!!

The baby shower is Saturday...so there should be lots and lots of pictures to post from that!! I'm excited.
I'm pretty bummed that several friends aren't going to be able to make it, but that's life. Life is busy and not everything works out perfectly.

In other news...I enter Week 28 today.

Baby Boy:
• is 2.25 pounds and 14.8 inches from head to toe.
• is the size of a Chinese cabbage (oh...?) while all balled up.

Momma:
• is back to being a very dizzy momma.
I almost fell in the shower this morning from dizziness. I've called the OB and requested to get my iron levels checked Friday while I'm there.
• is deadly tired by 8pm...but pretty much fatigued all day.
I have a feeling this is due to my iron levels.
• is experiencing...heartburn?
I have the normal heartburn, but then also feel a similar feeling lower in my chest/upper stomach. Maybe babe is just pushing around and bothering my organs? I'm not sure...it makes me not too hungry.
• is really excited to have friends and family together Saturday to celebrate this little acrobat in my tummy!!

Spoiled Baby Boy . . .

On the 1st of September ... Carter's and Totsy sucked me in with their sales.
My Carter's order arrived today and I was so excited to open it up!
It makes me realize that we need to get our butt in gear and get started on his room!!
We need to get the walls primed and painted, finish cleaning out the closet, ... eeeee!!
I'd LIKE to have all of that done before the baby shower next weekend.
Will it happen?
No.
But it's a nice thought.
It'd be nice to have it all ready to put all of the stuff we get from the shower in so it doesn't sit around in other rooms endlessly.
Maybe I should get moving on that.
I was initially going to have Wes and his friends move the huge armoir that's in there into another room...
...but I found a cute idea on Pinterest where you can turn an armoir into a changing table/station.
I'm not still 100% sold on the idea, but I'm open to it.
We already have the armoir and it's massive.
Wes' mom got us an adorable changing table already, but I think if we'd do this with the armoir, the changing table she got us would work great downstairs.
Since we have a two-story house, I don't think it's out of the question to have a changing station on each level.
Definitely doable.
So, in the meantime, I'm going to see if Wes is able to scoot the armoir away from the walls this weekend.
That way we don't have to completely relocate it yet (it's massive) in case I want it back in the room...
...but it'll be out of the way for painting.
Then, I need to see if I can round up some painters!! ;)
Here are my buys from Carter's.
My Totsy order should be here tomorrow or Friday...so stay tuned. They're even cuter!!

Week 27 . . .

I've been slacking...yet again.
I didn't even get the Week 26 update posted last week.
I wish I had some fun excuse.
I don't.
My butt has just been firmly planted on the couch...
...watching Dawson's Creek, nonstop.
I'm lame.
I'm getting so sad because I only have a few episodes left....
....FOREVER!
Then what...?
DC Cupcakes I think.

Anyway...today starts Week 27.

Baby:
• started opening his eyes and practicing blinking (last week).
• weighs almost 2 pounds and is 14.5 inches long when he stretches out his legs.
• can hear us, though still muffled.
• is so spoiled already. I have two shipments of goodies coming for him. I promise I will not buy anymore until after his shower next weekend ...though I've already said that once. I also know my mom is spoiling him rotten. It's only fitting since I've always been a spoiled brat. ;)

Momma:
• is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired. I think I may be more tired now than I was 1st trimester.
I took Princess for a walk last night...barely 1/2 mile. Afterwards I couldn't keep my eyes open. It was a chore to actually try to keep them open. I asked Wes to text me every 20 minutes or so to ensure I hadn't fallen asleep. As I sit here writing this now I'm having problems keeping them open and it's not even lunch yet. Man.
• has learned what heartburn is. I never had heartburn pre-pregnancy. Last week was pretty brutal.
This week hasn't been as been so far, but I've also bought Tum's and learned not to hesitate ... take them!
• is starting to learn about Braxton Hicks ... during said 1/2 mile walk, the last half of it was filled with a lot of tense tummy "pain". I can't even call it pain, it wasn't. It was just really tense and felt like pressure. Nothing bad or painful yet by any means. Thank God.

10 . . . for my baby boy!

Ten: The number of perfect little toes you'll wiggle; the number of perfect little fingers you'll wrap around me.

Nine: The number of months it takes for you to grow strong and healthy enough to join your daddy and me.

Eight: The loooong number of months I have to selfishly and impatiently wait between finding out about you and finally meeting you.

Seven: The number of onesies you have sitting on the table. You're already a messy child dominating the house! (Just kidding - that's my laziness fault!)

Six: The number of weeks (roughly) I will be home with you before returning to work against my will.

Five: The number of steps between our bedroom and your crib.

Four: The number of biological uncles you will have. So many others in spirit, though! ♥

Three: The number of biological aunts you will have. Never forget Aunt Kenz, though...she loves you just as much!

Two: The number of feet I can't wait to tickle; the number of cheeks I can't wait to squeeze; the number of hands I can't wait to grasp my finger that you'll be wrapped around.

One: The number of perfect little bundles of joy we will be bringing home in ~14 weeks. ♥

Eight . . .

Eight . . .

That's the number of times I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night last night.
In case you were wondering...not a lot of efficient sleep happens when you get up eight times to pee.
Not only is the interruption annoying, but falling back asleep doesn't happen the quickest.
When you do fall back asleep...it's almost time to pee again!!

Don't get me wrong...I know I complain a lot.
Underneath all of the complaints, though, lies a happy momma.
A momma that knows that her little rugrat is healthy and active in there.
A little rugrat that is having a blast with her bladder.
I wouldn't mind if he would flip over or find a new organ to beat up on, though.
That'd be a nice change of pace...

In the meantime, though, I guess naps on the couch after work will be my friend.
My husband is loving and understanding enough to not give me heck for napping.
He encourages it...he even not so secretly turns the alarm I set off so that I can get as much sleep as my body will allow in the light of day (which is surprisingly a lot - most times 2-3 hours!).
He doesn't even complain if I nap pass the normal supper time.
I got pretty lucky.
He's a pretty amazing guy.

To thank him I should probably stop at Fareway to get some good food for the house...
...even though it is packed because they're having some awesome 2-day deals.
We'll see if I still feel like being a good wife at noon when I get off work.

Lemon Goodiness . . .

Heya!
Do any of you watch PLL?!
Goodness...last night's episode sure left us sitting on the edge of our seats.
What's your take on it?
I just refuse to believe that Toby is working with Mona.
It has to be a trick...he must be trying to gain advantage from the "inside."

Anyways...yesterday on Facebook I posted the final product of today's recipe.
Now I will share it!!

Two Ingredient Lemon Bars

Angel Food Cake Mix + Lemon Pie Filling

The only (small) problem I came across is that the recipe called for a 15oz can of lemon pie filling but the local grocery store (the only place I could find lemon) carried 22oz cans only.

Mix, mix, and mix some more.
You'll feel like it's never going to come together.
The cake mix will also fly everywhere because it's super super fine.
Mix a little more.

Once it all comes together, put it in a greased 9x13 at 350º for 20 minutes.

As it is cooling, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

Let them cool completely before you slice and eat. It's worth it! ;)

This week started...
25 weeks!

Pumpkin Cupcakes & Staycation . . .

I'm a little behind this week, eh?!
You'd think I was busy or something.
Psh...not really. I'm just slacking, I guess!!

Earlier this week I finally made some food I'd like to post about!
Pumpkin Cupcakes.
So easy. So moist - even several days later!

Yeah! Two ingredients! Yellow cake mix + one can of pumpkin!

Mix.

Scoop em into cupcake liners. Note: the "batter" will be very stiff and slightly uncooperative. :)

Bake @ 350º for 20 minutes.
They don't look like typical cupcakes...

...but they're awfully moist!!

In other news...
Wes & I will be having a nice staycation in Des Moines this weekend! We're going to the Iowa Cubs game tonight and staying in a hotel (that his mom won from KGAN!!) on the west side of town. One of the meals we eat out will most definitely be at Zombie Burger! Wes' friend, Nate, told Wes about it. All Wes had to say to sell me was "Portobello Mushrooms". Done deal! Can't wait!

Also...Wednesday I started

Week 24

Baby...
• is just over one pound and about a foot long.
• is the size of an ear of corn (which sounds ah-maz-ing!).
• 's lungs are developing branches...
• 's taste buds are developing...
• 's brain is growing quickly!
• is "viable." This means if he were (God forbid) born this week he would have a 50% chance of surviving in the NICU with lots of help.

Momma...
• is starting to develop heart burn after eating.
• is having an even more difficult time keeping his name secret since we got his awesome personalized onesie in the mail yesterday!!

• is starting to get quite a cute lil bump!
(though she still just feels fat)
