My wonderful sister-in-law and mother-in-law threw me and BBB (Baby Boy Beck, as others call him since we won't share his precious name) the best baby shower this last weekend! ♥
We are so so blessed and overwhelmed by the gifts we received.
I hope to get some pictures up on here and Facebook this week, but I've been trying to keep busy by being productive. Saturday evening we started putting the swing my grandma got him with the help of Courtney (niece), but it had to wait until Sunday morning.
After a good night's rest and Wes' strength...we were finally able to get it snapped into place the way it was supposed to go.
My next project, Sunday night, was cleaning out his closet. For the past few years it's been my shoe closet as well as my school books/utensils closet.
After clearing all of that out (most shoes going to the Clothes Closet and the books/utensils going into a storage room - yeah, real productive Jenna - moving junk from one room to another. Shhh...don't tell the hubs!), it's all ready for his goodies. I love that the closet has all of this storage shelving in it. I need to stock up on baskets and other ways to keep organized. :)
So naturally...the next step was to sort through his clothes.

| Holy bad phone picture quality! I tried sharpening it up (because it was really dark) but that just made it look that much worse! |
I sorted the clothes: NB, 0-3 months, 3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 12 months, 24 months.
Then I hauled them all upstairs to the closet. For now they're just sitting on the shelves in piles until it's time to wash them all. It's nice to have them out of the way until then, though!
Last night I cleaned the bookshelves in BBB's room.
I have two tall & skinny white bookshelves from my childhood teenage room at my parents'.
I think the white makes a good accent against the "Hint of Olive" wall and will go well with the dark wood work in the room. I loaded the shelves of one of them with the books BBB received at the baby shower (the invitation asked that instead of cards, loved ones bring a book for BBB and sign the inside of it).
This shelving unit is in a corner and I put the other unit next to where his crib will be. It is currently loaded with toys/odds and ends we have for him.
I need to finish sweeping the room good. Also, I need to clean out our hallway closet to make room for BBB's medicinal goodies. As I said regarding the closet...I need to find some baskets/tubs to help organize. This will be helpful in the hall closet as well.
Inspired by Pinterest, we will be using a huge armoire I had as a changing station. I'm not going to paint it because it matches the dark wood work in the room...so I just need to get it cleaned up and add the knobs on. It has 4 smaller drawers that will work well for wipes, creams, and diapers. There are also 2 large drawers at the very bottom. The top has a shelf as well that I hope to find some baskets to put on to hold his socks and little mittens.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do with all his blankets. Maybe...you guessed it...another basket...?!
Slowly, but surely...everything is coming together. I love it! ♥
Today I start Week 29. 11 to go!!
Baby:
• is growing rapidly now!
• weighs about 2.5 pounds and is just over 15 inches. (The 15 inches part kind of amazes me. Most babies are born around 20 inches...so he's almost as long as he's going to get...crazy!!)

• is the size of a butternut squash.
• continues to mature in his lungs and muscles.
• has a growing head to accommodate his brain that is busy busy!!
• has surging energy, thanks to the white fat being deposited beneath his skin.
• has found Momma's ribs. (It isn't uncomfortable yet, but I'm sure it'll get that way as he grows. Right now it's just a very new and unique feeling and experience to feel him up that high. Up until this week he was still very low and only kicking my bladder. Now he divides his time nicely between my bladder and ribs.)
Momma:
• has more manageable dizziness...no more nearly falling in the shower, just the occasional spin in bed.
• can no longer take her prenatals without getting sick to her stomach. (Need to call the dr about that one...)
• "is getting quite the belly," according to a coworker today.

| Again...horrrrrible phone picture quality - sorry! See the car seat/stroller set in the background...? Yeah, I'm pumped. My mom has been spoiling BBB so much already!! |

You are getting so close- so exciting! Get ready for your heart to burst. I have to say- I LOVE the idea of a book instead of a card, that is so smart! Just a few months late for me but maybe ill do that for our next one;-)
