Update: Lincoln is here. . .

Thursday night (@ 34w1d) I went to ER for bad back, chest, & upper abdomen pain. Turns out my blood pressure was through the roof (180/120 & higher) and I had severe pre-eclampsia (called HELP syndrome). The solution: delivery. I was still completely closed & not thinned @ all so they said the time (days) it'd take me to be induced & deliver vaginally was too risky to my health. C-section it was!

Lincoln was born 11.02.12 @ 5:58am. He weighed 5lb 5.6oz & was already 18.5in!

He is doing well but will need to be in NICU for roughly 4 weeks. Wes has been a life saver. I had to be on bed rest for 24 hours after the C, which meant I couldn't even TOUCH my son until he was 24 hours old (and the glimpse I got of him in the OR was from 3+ ft away because of all the machines surrounding me). It killed me & made me feel inadequate, but Wes was a life saver. He went with Lincoln straight to the NICU & was everywhere I couldn't be. Somehow he also managed to be there for me whenever I needed him as well.

I've never been so in love! It's been along & crazy few days, but I am so grateful for my healthy family!

At less than 2 days old, Lincoln was already down to only an NG tube (which he's getting my breast milk through), normal oxygen cannula through nose (with just a LITTLE force), & some fluids and antibiotics through IV. He's our tough little man. Last night he even opened one eye (THREE TIMES!!!) to look at us!!

Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, and messages. We are very blessed!

(I've thrown in my last baby bump pic for good measure.)

I'm so happy for you. I have a feeling we won't be getting as many updates from you (rightfully so!), so I'm looking forward to what we do hear. He is adorable. You should be so proud!!
