I love the holidays! I love food, I love to cook & bake, and I love an excuse to do 'em! As I had mentioned, I had taken this Monday off in hopes of baking up some goodies to spread around the office for Christmas. I wanted to make these Truffle Hot Chocolate Balls for several people. They sound amazing. You make these truffle balls to give out with instructions to put them in warmed milk and you ta da!, you have decadent hot chocolate! Well, also as I mentioned, I woke up with the stomach flu Monday...so, sadly, nothing was accomplished. I feel really weird not making any sweets, as that's what I'm known for!
Well, instead, I'm getting several things ready to bake tomorrow for our family Christmas with my parents and brother's family. We're having a brunch with sausage & egg casserole, french toast casserole, and fresh fruit. Both of the casseroles are in the fridge, awaiting baking in the morning.
As I type this, I have eggs boiling for ham salad to make sandwiches to go with our soups (potato, ham & bean, and chicken noodle) for Christmas day at my Grandma's. I feel like such a good housewife right now. I'm so happy when I'm in the kitchen (alone). Wes tries to help and while I always enjoy his company, it's so peaceful for me to be in the kitchen alone knowing I'm getting the food ready for my family to gather around and enjoy.
While yes, the title of my post is accurate and cute, I hope everyone remembers the true meaning of Christmas and is able to share food, stories, presents, and love with all of those near and dear to them this season.
Merry Christmas to all! ♥
