It's a . . .

Our anatomy ultrasound and appointment was moved up to Monday morning and I couldn't have been happier!! Since it was the anatomy u/s it was time to measure everything, so it was a rather involved u/s. About half way through I started feeling very hot...like sweating. I figured it was just stuffy in the room, but then I started feeling hungry mixed with queasy. I asked Wes to get me a piece of gum from my purse because Winterfresh has been a life saver throughout this pregnancy when my stomach feels a little bit off.

That prompted the sonographer to ask if I was getting ill. I told her I was just getting hungry and so I felt a little queasy. She advised I laid on my left side for a minute...as laying on your back can make you sick with the growing uterus and such. I rolled to the side and she then asked her assistant to get me a cold wash cloth and a glass of ice water. Evidently she could see the extent of my sweating. As they got me the cloth and glass, I lay there looking at Wes. I asked him if he was hot (he's warm blooded) and he said no. That's when I knew I wasn't feeling well!! I was sweating like crazy!!

After a cold wash cloth and some ice water, I was feeling a little better but the sonographer insisted I stay on my side. She was still able to get almost all of the images and measurements she needed with me on the side. I only had to lay on my back again for a short time at the end.

She told us the heart rate was 161 and I was like "Oh snap...a girl...!"

Then...she confirmed, "You want me to tell you the sex, right?"

To which Wes says,

"That's a boy!!"

The sonographer confirmed that we are indeed having a little boy. Wow! I didn't even know what to say! I mean...I had wanted a boy so that our future daughter can have a big brother to look out for her... but I just didn't think it'd happen! I guess I just really thought baby was a girl. How exciting!!

Our appointments are an hour away, so I feel like we need to make a day out of them. So of course we go shopping and out to eat! Obviously we needed to get a onesie that screamed BOY!!

Baby:

• is the length of a banana.

• is 12oz (according to the u/s Monday - babycenter app says 10.5oz)

• is swallowing to help his digestive system.

Momma:

• is still very sleep deprived.
(Yesterday I woke up @ 2:30a and finally gave up @ 6 to get out of bed.)

• is back to not feeling well after eating - but laying on my left side for a bit seems to help a little.

• is sooooooo tired.

• can't grasp that she's going to have a SON!!!!
