Obsession. . .

I've been meaning to get around to this post for a lil while now, and finally, it's here!  On September 13th, (see...I'm slackin'!), IGE posted about making a french onion soup sandwich.  Oh??  Yes, that was my thought at first too.  Let me add in here that for the last few months I've had quite the obsession with onions - which is driving Wes mad!  Wes hates onions; he won't eat them and isn't the happiest when I sneak dry onion flakes into hamburger when I cook it and such.  There for a while I was sautéing onions every night at 9:30pm (nearly like clockwork, oddly enough) and eating them...plain...just the onions.  You can imagine how happy this made the hubby...evidently the house smelling like one big ol' onion doesn't please onion-haters.

So...I couldn't wait.  I had to have it!!  I didn't follow her recipe to a T - I didn't use "worcestershir-sheer-shire sauce" (as Kristen so eloquently puts it) or beef broth or the bay leaf, but I still got the basic concept down.

Mmmmm...Onions.

More onions...things are getting good now!!

I was worried how this whole panini experience would go, especially with cheap sliced bread (since the pictures of paninis I've seen have been with good bread)...

But let me tell you...the fuse that blew while I was making this (and baking homemade french fries, microwaving sweet corn, and toasting bread) was totally worth it.  It was a - maz - ing!!

This reminds me that I need to go get another onion...I'm long overdue!!
