Truce . . .

It's been rather cold here in Iowa the last couple of days and I hate to admit how much worse it will be getting in the coming months.  Why do I still live here?!  I hate winter.  What's to like?  Sure, it can be extremely beautiful, but after you capture that in photos and live it a while, it becomes redundant.  Don't get me wrong, I love the beauty that winter, snow, and ice bring to nature...I love capturing it on "film" (can we still say that since it's all digital...?), but enough is enough.  Driving can become ridiculous and then you add all of the stupid drivers........wait, it's not winter quite yet - let's hold this off for another post in a couple months! :)

There isn't much new with life.  I'm still working at the bank and taking night classes to get my BA in Accounting.  I will finally be done with classes March 1st and that can't come soon enough.  I've thought about starting a countdown - What do you think?

Facebook and Minesweeper haven't been able to uphold the required level of procrastination and time-killing necessary in life, so I have become addicted to Pinterest.  If you haven't check it out yet, you're missing out.  I know a good friend of mine is always hesitant to start new addictions online; formerly due to needing to concentrate on school but also because she hates signing up for things and having more passwords.  Isn't that the truth?  Jeez - everything should just be fingerprint protected.  Anyway, even if you don't want to sign-up to get the maximum experience, you can simply browse without logging in at your leisure and get tons of great ideas.  The benefit of signing up is that you get to save all of the great ideas, recipes, crafts, tips, etc that you find in one spot - under one password!! :)

In the past six months or so, I have been recruited as the barber for my uncles.  Grandma bought some new clippers with tons of spiffy attachments which makes this all so effortless, I really kind of enjoy cutting their hair.  Last night I cut both boys hair and then cut Wes' (this is the 2nd or 3rd time I've done Wes' now).  I was doing great and then I was using this attachment...
which helps you trim around men's ears.  I love it - it's quite spiffy.  Anyway...barber story gone bad.  So I was trimming around Wes' ears and well...I didn't have the razor tilted enough, so the other side of the attachment went against his head and shaved an arch parallel to his ear.  He says he looks like he had brain surgery and that's the scar.  Ugh!  I felt horrible!!  It was an honest mistake and I definitely learned from my mistake.  I continued to let Wes give me a hard time for it, though, because I deserved it.  If someone had done something like that to my hair, I'd definitely be giving them a very hard time.

So, last night I was laying on the couch watching Wes play a video game and started dozing off.  All of a sudden my right arm was WET!!  Yes, Wes had poured water on me.  It wasn't a deliberate attempt to soak me, rather he often will act like he is going to drip water on me from his glass - I'm used to that.  This time, I guess me waking up startled him as well and much more water than planned spilled.

I told him we needed to call a TRUCE - I ruined his hair, he got me wet.  Even!
In my defense, his hair grows super fast and will grow enough to not be able to notice my mistake in a week!

had to laugh at this because (as a self proclaimed barber) I have done the same thing to Beau's hair. Good thing it grows out!
