Finding ambition . . .

Hair.

My hair is so thin and fine ... and I just don't have a lot of it.  I envy the people who complain about their thick hair.  I've always been so ... unmotivated to do anything with my hair because it doesn't seem to cooperate.  I have a cowlick which is a pain in the butt and since my hair is so fine it hasn't ever really liked to hold curl.  Lately I've been a little more experimental with my hair.  About a month ago I decided to put a whole bunch of twists in it while it was wet before bed, sleep with it like that, and ended up revealing lots nice curls in the morning.  It was pretty simple and a good enough end product, so I've done it a few times.

Wednesday I saw a tutorial on getting wavy hair with a straightening iron while looking through my Google Reader.  Dana posted a video showing how she did it.

Last night I had class but really just wasn't feeling well, so I stayed home.  At one point I felt pretty decent and suddenly decided I needed to try it.

Here was my first curl done with the straightening iron per Dana's instructions.  I was impressed!!!!

Here is the end result (pardon my lack of makeup - I told you I didn't feel well!).  I was impressed.  For some reason, though, that side turned out a lot better (fuller) than the other side.  I think it might have been because my straightener wasn't hot enough for the other side.  Anyway, Dana says it lasts all day and she's even slept on it and it looks ok in the morning.  So....we shall see what it looks like in the morning!  It probably wasn't the best idea to do this on a night during my early week at work, becuase if it looks disastrous in the morning I'm not going to feel like doing anything to make it look better.
